What SleptOn collects, why, and what you control.

Your account

Your email, display name, username, birthday, profile photo and the genres you pick. If you sign up from someone’s invite, or tell us how you heard about SleptOn, we keep that too.

What you post and send

Your posts, captions, comments, likes, saves, follows and messages, and the songs attached to them. Public posts can be seen by anyone on SleptOn; posts from a private account only by the people you approve. Messages are visible to the people in the chat. With read receipts on, they also see when you last read it; turn them off in Settings or for one chat and they stop updating.

Name that song

The microphone is only on while you’re naming a song, after you tap or hold to start. The audio is matched by Apple’s ShazamKit; SleptOn never records or stores it. The songs it finds are kept on your phone in Saved › Heard, which you can clear at any time, and we also keep a record of them with your account so we can see which songs people are naming. That record is only visible to the SleptOn team and is deleted with your account.

Moods

When you post, the song’s title, artist, album, genre and your caption are sent to an AI model run on Cloudflare to pick up to three mood tags for the post. Nothing else about you is sent, and Cloudflare doesn’t use it to train models.

Apple Music and contacts

With your permission, SleptOn reads what’s playing and what you played recently in Apple Music to suggest songs, and adds your saved songs to a playlist when you ask. Your library stays on your phone. If Listening now is on in Settings, the song you’re playing is shared with the people you let see it while it plays, and expires a couple of minutes after it stops. To find friends, SleptOn turns the email addresses in your contacts into one-way hashes on your phone and only sends those; you can turn off Let contacts find me in Settings.

Your device

The app version, iOS version, device model, language, region and time zone you last opened SleptOn with, plus a notification token if you allow notifications. We use these to fix bugs, plan updates and deliver notifications.

Crash reports

If SleptOn crashes, the next time you open it the app sends us Apple’s crash report: where in the app it crashed, when, and the app version, iOS version and device model. It’s linked to your account if you’re signed in. It doesn’t include your posts, messages, contacts or anything else on your phone. Only the SleptOn team can see crash reports, we use them only to fix bugs, and they’re deleted with your account.

This website

slepton.app counts page views and which buttons and links are tapped, along with the referring site, country and device type. It doesn’t use cookies or store anything on your device. Visitors are counted with a one-way code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day, so we can’t follow you from one day to the next or tie a visit to your SleptOn account.

How we use it

To run SleptOn: your feed, charts, badges, recaps and notifications, keeping the service safe, reviewing reports, and understanding which features people use.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your data or your listening history, we don’t show ads, and we don’t post on your behalf.

Deleting your account

Delete your account from Settings in the app. Your profile, posts, messages and everything above linked to you are removed.
