Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

What is SleptOn?

SleptOn is a social music discovery platform where real people share and discover music through trusted recommendations. Follow curators whose taste matches yours, build your reputation by sharing great music, and find hidden gems through a community that values authentic human connections over algorithms.

Is SleptOn free to use?

Yes, SleptOn is free to download and use. You just need an Apple Music subscription to play full songs through the app.

Why is SleptOn only available on iOS?

We're launching first on iOS with Apple Music integration to deliver the best possible experience. Android and Spotify support may come in future updates based on community demand.

Social Features

How do I follow other curators?

You can discover and follow curators from the Discover tab. Tap on any curator profile to see their recommendations and reputation score. Following curators helps personalize your feed with music from people whose taste you trust.

Can I make my profile private?

SleptOn is designed as a public community where music lovers share recommendations openly. Your profile and recommendations are visible to other users to help build trust and discovery. However, your personal information (email) is always kept private.

How do comments and interactions work?

You can like, dislike, and comment on recommendations. Engaging with recommendations helps curators build their reputation and helps the community discover which songs resonate most with listeners.

Reputation & Tiers

How does the reputation system work?

When you recommend a song, other users can like or dislike it. Likes increase your reputation points, while dislikes decrease them. Your reputation is tracked per genre, so you can become known for specific music styles. High reputation means your recommendations get prioritized in others' feeds.

What are the reputation tiers?

As you build reputation, you unlock tiers: Silver, Bronze, Amethyst, Sapphire, Emerald, Elite, Diamond, Gold, and Legendary. Each tier represents your standing as a trusted curator. Beta testers also receive an exclusive permanent Founder badge.

Can I lose reputation?

Yes, if users dislike your recommendations, you'll lose reputation points. This keeps the community honest and ensures people only recommend music they genuinely believe in. Quality over quantity is rewarded.

Community Guidelines

What content is allowed?

SleptOn is for sharing music you genuinely love. Recommendations should be authentic. Comments should be respectful and constructive. We're building a positive community of music lovers, so harassment, spam, or inappropriate content is not tolerated.

How do I report inappropriate content?

If you see content that violates our community guidelines, you can report it by tapping the menu on any recommendation or profile and selecting "Report". Our team reviews all reports and takes appropriate action.

Can I block other users?

User blocking is coming soon. Once available, you'll be able to block users from their profile page. Blocked users won't be able to see your recommendations or interact with your content, and you won't see theirs.

Privacy & Data

What data does SleptOn collect?

We only collect your name and email through Sign in with Apple. We also use Apple MusicKit to access your recently played songs for recommendations. All data is stored securely in Apple CloudKit and is never sold to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account and data?

You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the app. Go to Profile > Settings > Delete Account. All your data stored in CloudKit will be permanently removed, including your profile, recommendations, and reputation history.
